Dr. Khawaja M. Umar Suleman

Dr. Umar received his PhD from the Department of Computer Science, SBASSE, LUMS. His area of research is in intelligent systems often consisting of robots and cameras. Lately he has been working in pilot-less autonomous multi-drone systems and on-board affordable AI. Previously, during the course of over two decades, Umar has founded multiple startups and delivered RnD based innovative solutions for local problems.

Muhammad Ali Murtaza

Dr. M. Ali Murtaza obtained his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. He did his postdoctoral fellowship at Georgia Institute of Technology. Previously he worked at KUKA Robotics and at a healthcare robotics startup.

Dr. Ahmad Mustafa

Dr. Ahmad Mustafa obtained his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. Prior to joining ITU, he worked at Occidental Petroleum, leading the development of large-scale computational methods to streamline subsurface applications. His research interests lie in machine learning, weakly supervised learning, computational image interpretation, and domain adaptation. He was awarded the Roger P. Webb ECE GRA Excellence Award in recognition of his research contributions by Georgia Tech.

For his teaching services, he was awarded the Outstanding Online Head TA Award, the ECE GTA Excellence Award, and the ECE CREATION Award. His work has been featured in top-tier peer-reviewed academic journals, conference proceedings, and technical presentations, and is frequently cited by both academic and industry peers.

Dr. Mohammad Ali Humayun

Mr. Ali Humayun has completed his Ph.D in System Engineering from the Universiti Brunei Darussalam, where his research focus was on deep learning for speaker and author profiling. He has previously worked with global telecom giants such as Nokia, Huawei, ZTE, as an IP Networks Expert. He obtained Masters degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar and Bachelors degree of Electronics Engineering from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering.

Dr. Syed Ibrahim Ghaznavi

Dr. Ibrahim holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Imperial College London, United Kingdom, and has been a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. He also got an opportunity to visit the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA as a visiting research scientist in the Spring 2020. He was named Imperial Global Fellow in July 2017. 

His research interests include Spatial Computing (AR/VR/MR), Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Networks, and Information Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D). He actively publishes in top conferences and journals in these areas. He had been on the Technical Program Committee for the ICTD 2019 and was an organizer for the Pakistan-ICTD 2013, Pakistan-ICTD 2014. His research received widespread international media coverage at the following news outlets: Reuters, Dailymail, Voice of America, Gulf News, Malaymailonline, Japan Today, and News Asia.

Dr. Usama Mehmood

Usama Mehmood completed his Ph.D. at the Department of Computer Science at Stony Brook University under the supervision of prof. Scott A. Smolka in 2021. He received a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University in 2019 and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from LUMS in 2014. He is the recipient of the Stony Brook CS Department Chair Fellowship award. He has worked at MathWorks during the summer of 2018 and Facebook during the summer of 2019.

Dr. Muhammad Adnan Siddique

Dr. Muhammad Adnan Siddique received the B.E. degree in electronics engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan in 2006 and the European Master of Research in Information and Communications Technology (MERIT) joint degree from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany and Universitat Politecnica de Cataluyna (UPC), Spain. He did PhD/post-doc at the Chair of Earth Observation & Remote Sensing, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich, Switzerland, from 2013 – 2018. He joined the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES) in 2019, and spent two semesters there as an Assistant Professor before moving to ITU in June 2020.

Dr. Muhammad Umar Janjua

Dr. Umar Janjua is an Assistant Professor in the department of Computer Science at the Information Technology University. He graduated from GIKI with BS in CS engineering in 2001, joined startup “Enabling Technologies” for two years, accepted full PhD scholarship at Cambridge University, UK, joined Microsoft Corporation as Software Engineer in 2008 and worked until 2017.

Dr. Mudassir Shabbir

Mudassir Shabbir received his PhD from Division of Computer Science, Rutgers University, NJ USA. His main area of research is Algorithmic and Discrete Geometry. He has developed new methods for the characterization and computation of succinct representations of large data sets with applications in nonparametric statistical analysis. He also works in Combinatorics and Extremal Graph Theory.

Previously, Mudassir has worked at LUMS, Lahore, Los Alamos National Labs, NM, Bloomberg L.P. New York, NY and at Rutgers University. He was Rutgers Honors Fellow for 2011-12.

Dr. Saeed UL Hassan (Late)

Dr. Saeed Ul Hassan was the Director of AI Lab and a faculty member at Information Technology University (ITU), a former Post-Doctorate Fellow at the United Nations University – with more than 15 years of hands-on experience in AI, Machine Learning, and Software Development client work. He earned his Ph.D. in the field of Information Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. He has also served as a Research Fellow at the National Institute of Informatics in Japan.

Dr. Saeed’s research interests lie within the areas of Data Science, Machine Learning, Contextual Scientometrics, Altmetrics Bibliometric Tools for Evidence-based Research Policy Formulation, Information Retrieval, and Text Mining. He has published more than 50 papers in reputed international journals and conference proceedings including highly reputed venues like TKDE, WWW, JCDL, Journal of Infometrics, and Scientometrics. Dr. Saeed is also the recipient of the James A. Linen III Memorial Award in recognition of his outstanding academic performance. More recently, he has been awarded Eugene Garfield Honorable Mention Award for Innovation in Citation Analysis by Clarivate Analytics, Thomson Reuters.

Dr. Saeed was a lifetime volunteer of Pakistan Hemophilia Patient’s Welfare Society and technical lead of the National Patient Registry of people with a bleeding disorder in Pakistan.
