Researchers at the Embedded Computing Laboratory (ECLab) of Information Technology University (​ITU) have been awarded EIFFEL VADE-MECUM 2017 excellence research grant for their collaborative research project with Lab-STICC laboratory of the University of South Brittany (UBS), France, in the area of ​information security in many-core computing ​systems.​ The Eiffel ​Vade Mecum​ program, which is established by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, is a highly competitive research excellence program with an acceptance rate of only 2​0​% worldwide.

It is a matter of immense pride that ITU’s Embedded Computing Laboratory is the only research team selected from Pakistan this year!

​Eiffel Vade-Mecum​ program requires joint research proposal submission from Pakistani and French counterparts and​ the selection process is based on  ​peer review​ of the quality of research proposal, individual excellence of researchers involved, and the ​effectiveness​ of collaboration. Under this grant, ​Mr. Muhammad Asim Mukhtar, a ​PhD researcher at Electrical Engineering​ Department​ under the supervision of Dr. M. Khurram Bhatti (Assistant Professor), will spend one year of his PhD at Lab-STICC, France, and work on information security in many-core systems.
