Introduction of the Program

The MSM&T is a unique opportunity for professionals who aim to make a difference in a world where economic and social advancement is increasingly dependent on integrating technology and business. It is the first program in Pakistan designed specifically to provide skills and knowledge to those who are aspire to become technology managers and leaders in the 21st century to cutting-edge thinking and best practice in technology management and innovation. The program is designed for maximum flexibility combined with maximum rigor. It benefits from a combination of faculty quality, innovative program design and exciting learning methodologies. Candidates will receive an HEC-recognized degree from ITU.

Objective of the Program

Master of Science in Management and Technology aims to develop graduates who have:

  1. Knowledge-Base Advancement: A broad as well as in-depth understanding of cutting-edge concepts and issues in management, innovation, and technology.
  2. Research Competence: Develop capability to apply skills and knowledge gained throughout this program to conduct world class research in the upcoming management and technology research areas
  3. Interpersonal Skills: Develop interpersonal skills including leadership and team building skills required to successfully manage business functions, organizational units, or enterprises.

Scope regarding market, social and employment perspective of the program

There is a gap in the market for students – a program that provides specialized research based Masters focused on Management and Technology area. The program has the potential to provide a launching pad for students aspiring for a PhD in Management and Technology area. This program also provides the students from technology background to gain management skills and pursue interdisciplinary research. FBM intends to develop this program as a source of knowledge creation where technology meets business and business meets technology.

Eligibility Criteria

Who can apply?

Applicants must fulfill the following criteria in order to be considered for admission into the MS M&T program at ITU:

  • Scored 50% marks or above in matriculation, or equivalent examination.
  • Scored 50% marks or above in intermediate, or equivalent examination.
  • Completion of at least 16 years of education in management, economics, computer science, engineering, or any related field from an HEC recognized university
  • Scored at least 50% in the annual system, or CGPA of at least 2.0, in the terminal degree
  • Scored at least 50% in the ITU graduate admissions test and interview

Admission Test

A minimum score of 50% is required in ITU Graduate Test.
GRE General and GMAT scores are also acceptable in Lieu of ITU Graduate Test.

Program Structure

MSM&T is two-year Program comprising 30 credit hours, made up of 8 courses and research work. The courses are three credits each; the project is six credits. Classes will be held on weekdays at Barki Campus.
